AVIARY VISIT 2018

June 10th was the date for our aviary visit down to Ady Lovack and Lee Pennick.  Club members met up with Edinburgh BS members at Berwick and we all made our way down to Peterlee and Ady's aviary. Ady and his wife Beverly had provided a small buffet breackfast for us with bacon and sausage rolls laid on for us . Ady then broke the bad news that unfortunately Lee had to cancel our visit . Ady then managed to set up another visit for us with John Rodgers who stayed 10mins away from him. Ady then started to show off some of his birds and explained where they originated from and how he bred them to the superb standard that was on show. the quality of birds in dom pied, spangle and yellowface was amazing, we then saw the bird that we all came to see, the BS winning Lightgreen cock, an outstanding bird. After another cuppa we then made our way to John Rodgers. again there were some cracking birds on show. john had some outstanding greys and yellowfaces and uses all wire breeding cages and all wire flights. John told us he was getting ready to pair his birds up as he's had a couple of poor breeding seasons and is hoping to get some youngsters off them. Very soon it was time to make our way home and thanks to Ady, his wife Beverly and to John for taking us at very short notice and Johns wife Barbara for the hospitality shown to us.
